Winner Mahrez out of African best race as CAF Reveals 2017 Shortlists.........
The Confederation of African Football has released the 30- men Shortlists that will Compete in a race for the 2017 African best player and the Africa home base Player awards.
2016 winner Riyard mahrez of Algeria and English Premier League side Leceister City is the Noticable name missing from the list.
While Chelsea Nigerian Forward Victor Moses was included after playing an influential role and the blues truimp of the Barclay Premier League title last Season.
Moses was deployed by Italian coach Antonio Conte as a right wing back in the Chelsea team and the Nigerian flourished at the wing back position due to his natural attacking quality and ability to defend as Chelsea lifted the English Premier League title last Season.
Along with Moses Gabonese Forward Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang of Bundleliga club Borussia Dortmund who won the award in 2015 as well as Liverpool Senegalese Forward Sadio Mane who came 3rd in 2016 among hosts of European base African Stars.
Among the nominees seven of them plays for European Clubs while Egyptian Goalkeeper Essam el- hadary at age 44 stands as the oldest on the list.
The veteran shot stopper plays his club football for Saudi Arabia side Al- Taawoun.
Riyard Mahrez who fail to produce the excellent football quality that he displayed last year when Leicester city captured the unlikely Barclay Premier League triumph in which he play a vital role to the foxes Success Crown.
At the same time four players has made both lists of the Africa best player and the home base Africa best player award.
Those who featured on both 30 men shortlists are Tunisia's Al- Maaloud (Al-Ahly) South Africa Percy tau and Uganda goalkeeper Dennis onyango both of Mamelodi Sundowns and Zambian Fackson kapumbu ( Zesco united).
Meanwhile both winners will be announced in Accra Ghana on January 4th 2018 after votes Calculated from heads Coaches and technical directors of various Nationals teams as well as members of CAF technical and development Committee plus a panels of media experts across the Continent that determines the winners.
